We may not be flying (much) this time of year, but at least we can look forward to some social events.
We can expect the 2012 Breakfast Schedule any day now. I'll look for a copy posted at the local library. Our annual meeting will probably occur in early February, as usual.
The NESA party will be January 21 in Springfield.
There will be a combined birthday/Mardi Gras party in February, at an undisclosed location in Post Mills. Details to follow.
Rumor has it that one of our more handsome members is featured in the 2012 SSA Calendar. I'd like to get one, but I can't afford the postage. If anyone can think of an economical way to get a hold of a calendar or two, let me know.
Happy 2012!

They can't be serious! They want $13.20 in postage to ship one calendar. No thanks.
It's actually a pretty good calendar this year. Post Mills gliders and photographers are over represented. I think Pete now has something of a record -- I don't recall anyone ever being both pictured and published in the same calendar.
I do wish calendar editors would quit selecting photos of motor gliders with motors running though. That's always struck me like posing for a photo with your fly open.

If you buy 2 or more they are $9 each. If we buy 6 the shipping is $19. So the total is about $12 each (with shipping).
I'll take 1. Rick you want 1?
We just need 4 more people...
That's brilliant, Tim. Put me down for 2. Gotta send one to Delano.
Mine was delivered by reindeer.

I got mine, finally. It was disappointing.
When I was young, I used to frame calendar pictures. In this calendar, all the photographs are marred with logos and captions, so you'd never be tempted to preserve them. Yuck.
Also, the calendar part of the calendar seems to feature Petri dishes. Yuck again.
