Tony took off first (I leave it to you to figure out why). We joined up over Lake Morey and climbed to around 5500 feet. We were in radio contact.
We tried to go to Dean twice. The first time we were found ourselves halfway there under a very black cloud with lots of lift. Dean was in sunshine. We elected to turn back because of the risk of being cut off from home by the potential storm where we were.
We ran home and spent a lot of time over Lyme trying to get back up. Eventually we did so and headed north again. This time Dean was on the far side of a big blue hole that was crossable, but it was getting late and we chickened out again.
Max height was 6000, and the best lift was around 4 knots. Nice day. Next time we'll take it more seriously.
