Certificates - Round 2

We had another intensive three day weekend of flight test activity, thanks to our highly motivated applicants, instructors, and towpilots!

And we are greatly indebted to our new Designated Pilot Examiner, Ed Winchester, who again made the trip to Post Mills from Saratoga.

The weather this time was challenging.  The only day suitable for flight tests was Friday.  On that day, Ed was able to examine Jeff, Toby, and Kevin, all of whom passed their tests.

Congratulations to Jeff Bernard on his new Private Pilot Certificate, Toby Schine on his CFI rating, and Kevin Brooker on his new Commercial Pilot Certificate!

Saturday was frustrating.  The clouds were on the ground all day, finally lifting enough to allow a couple of flights just before sunset.  But the weather was just enough to complete Kevin's second flight test of the weekend.

Congratulations, again, to Kevin Brooker for acquiring his initial Certificated Flight Instructor Certificate!  This represents a lot of effort on Kevin's part (three written tests, two separate oral tests, two separate flight tests), and getting it all done on a single weekend is an amazing accomplishment.

We had high hopes for the third day, Sunday, but despite the clear skies, the wind prevented us from flying.  Ed and his two applicants, Erzo and Mathias, were scheduled for flight tests, but they were able to complete only the oral portions of their exams.  We waited all day for the wind to die down, but it never happened.  Ed had to go home, but he promised to be back before the end of the season.

Stay tuned for Round 3!
