It looks a lot like the rebel outpost of Region 1 pilots in Region 2.
No clue about the sailplane, though.
That's Freehold Airport in New York State, not too far from Albany. That's T8's wingtip in the picture.
From the altitude (or lack of it) and all the shade, you might suppose that T8 pilot had better things to do than aerial photography at that moment, and you'd be right! I did eventually dig out and make it back to my starting point at Wurtsboro, on the other side of the Catskills.
