Seven True Vermonters and a couple of wannabes showed up for pancakes at Eaton's Sugar House this morning.

We forgot to pick next Sunday's breakfast venue, so keep an eye out for the official announcement later this week.

Ski flying and breakfasts

The ski flying and breakfast seasons are both off to a slow start this year, due to a variety of mechanical, meteorological, and gastronomical reasons.

There are three airplanes on skis now, with the possibility of two more, and the first Sunday breakfast at Whistle Stop was enjoyed by a small crowd.  The days are noticeably longer now:  some of us are talking about glider flying at Springfield.

TV Breakfast

The 2012 PMSC Sunday breakfast schedule is not actually a secret, we just haven't published the calendar yet. The member in charge of the schedule claims she was busy with an appearance on national TV. I thought supermodels could do anything. I guess I was wrong about that.

Anyway, the first two breakfasts were successful, and the third one will be on Sunday
at the Crossroads Cafe in White River Junction at 10amat the Farmer's Diner in Quechee at 9am. If you show up early, you might catch a glimpse of a TV star.

We may not be flying (much) this time of year, but at least we can look forward to some social events.

We can expect the 2012 Breakfast Schedule any day now. I'll look for a copy posted at the local library. Our annual meeting will probably occur in early February, as usual.

The NESA party will be January 21 in Springfield.

There will be a combined birthday/Mardi Gras party in February, at an undisclosed location in Post Mills. Details to follow.

Rumor has it that one of our more handsome members is featured in the 2012 SSA Calendar. I'd like to get one, but I can't afford the postage. If anyone can think of an economical way to get a hold of a calendar or two, let me know.

AGM

1. A Grand Meal

As usual, the highlight of the breakfast season occurred at the LumRuss Diner at our annual mid-February gathering. It was nice to see everybody:

all of whom enjoyed the food and hospitality we've come to rely on this time of year. Thanks, Judy and Andy.

2. Annual General Meeting

A hardy subset of the above enjoyed the AGM, which featured a lively debate about the future of the club. We have a new Secretary, a new Treasurer, and a renewed dedication to providing the right set of services for the foreseeable future. Read the minutes and think about what you can do to make our club even better this year.

Breakfast season has started

Andy, Christopher, Mike, Paul, Paul, Rick, Steve, Sue, and Thomas kicked off the breakfast season at EBA's on Sunday morning. The new 9am rendezvous time was fairly well tolerated, and that left enough time to go flying. Three airplanes made it into the air later that day, despite some squally conditions.

Rick, Tim, Andy, and Rich are all looking for passengers (i.e. shovelers) to assist in flight operations this winter. If this sounds familiar, it should. Come out and fly with us.

The next breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, January 16, at Mickey's in Enfield NH. Be there.

Breakfast in the woods

Twenty of us enjoyed a homemade breakfast in a homemade home today. Thank you, Mike and Sue, and we'll be back, now that we know how to find the place.

Note that next week's breakfast will be on Saturday, February 13, at Andy and Judy's house, to be followed by our annual meeting. Don't miss it if you can.

We're still dining

The PMSC breakfast season is underway. The first breakfast, at EBA's, was well attended. The second one less so, probably because there wasn't a maintenance project going on at the time.

The PMSC Calendar of Events, accessible from our web site, includes the breakfast schedule. You can also print out a version that will fit on your refrigerator door.

Breakfast meeting

We may still be a few months away from the beginning of flying season, but we began our fine dining season in style last Sunday at the LumRuss.  Fifteen cabin fever folks fell in for a fantastic feast of fresh fish, fruit, frittatas, and waffles.

Judy and Andy outdid themselves as hosts and chefs, but Emma, your sushi was a little bit dry, I'm sorry to say.

As usual, the breakfast was followed by the annual general meeting, which, as usual, was much less memorable than the breakfast.  Luckily, Diane volunteered to take notes in lieu of our club secretary, who was probably out preflighting his glider in Florida and not thinking of us at all.

Pending publication of the minutes, I hereby submit what I can remember of the meeting:

• We have some money in the bank, assuming we still have a bank.
• We talked about setting some personal goals for the upcoming season.
• We admired a beautiful 2-33 paint scheme.
• The Club Officers' mass resignation was mass refused.
• Gregg failed to show up to present Andy with his prize.
• Andy and Rick received some nice certificates of appreciation.

Some other things were discussed, but I guess we'll have to wait for the minutes to come out.

Breakfasts

The PMSC Winter Breakfast season has got off to a rather torpid start. Two weeks ago, thanks to Thomas' initiative, nine of us assembled at EBA's in Hanover.  Last week the planned gathering at Lake Morey was a bit disorganized. Some of us thought that the breakfast was at the Lake Morey Inn at one end of the lake, while those who actually read the schedule went to the Hulbert Center at the other end of the lake.

And last weekend, the scheduled breakfast at Mickey's was snowed out (please correct me if I'm wrong; I decided not to go when the visibility dropped to one driveway length at 9am).

Here's hoping that we have a nice turnout at Crossroads Café in WRJ at 10am on Sunday.

Penultimate Breakfast

We added a new restaurant to the breakfast list this year: the Colatina in Bradford. Their "Tuscan Brunch" was quite good this morning, despite having to wait for their 11:00 AM opening. Some of us didn't wait: a Champ and a Chief were spotted flying up the river during the meal.
